I like to share information that makes life more joyful and meaningful. My main interests are health and general wellness in body and mind.

Cure cancer with fever

Cure cancer with fever. In fact, fever can cure cancer was known a long time ago. In the 1880s, Dr. William Coley, a graduate of Harvard Medical School, also an eminent New York surgeon and Loan-Kettering researcher had been administering what was called the Coley’s toxins to cure sarcoma. Later his contemporaries used the toxins to successfully treat carcinomas, lymphomas, melanomas and myelomas. Unfortunately, his method was later ridiculed, and finally suppressed. In simple language, Dr. Coley’s method was to induce fever to cure the illness.

It is found that the body develops fever to fight invading organisms. Fever is the natural body defense to cure sickness and restore health. Fever stimulates the body immune system while retarding the growth of bacteria and viruses, by increasing white blood cells into the blood stream. This speeds up an increase in antibodies and interferon, an anti-viral protein which contains powerful cancer-fighting properties.

Frightening stats on cancer

A hundred years ago, cancer was not a common disease. During those days, in America only 1 out of 24 Americans had cancer. Today, half the men will have cancer, and 2 out of 3 women will end up with this dreaded disease. This is the worrying trend around the world. The causes of this rise in cancer cases are changing lifestyle and environment. The processed food we eat, the polluted air we breathe, and our demanding social environment, all contributed to this scourge in our lives. Even children are not spared from this frightening and painful disease.

We must be very careful to minimize the incidence of getting cancer. Watch the type of food we eat, avoid polluted environment, and have a relaxed and happy mind.

Fever therapy to cure cancer

"Give me the power to create a fever, and I shall cure any disease."

Quotation from Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine.

Fever is our bodies’ natural defense against invading organisms. Fever is nature’s way of healing and eliminating pathogens. The body is also able to eliminate impurities through sweating. Eminent scientists have confirmed the effective role of fever in curing diseases. This includes French bacteriologist Dr. Andre Lwoff, leading European cancer specialist Dr. Josef Issels, and Oxford professor Dr. David Mychles.

No wonder, sauna baths are so therapeutic. The steam speeds up metabolic processes and prevents growth of viruses and bacteria. At the same time the increased sweating revitalizes the skin’s capacity to eliminate impurities from the body. With the high temperature, all the vital organs will be stimulated to function efficiently.

Fever therapy has been successfully used to treat cancer in many countries, notably Germany and China. I would like to share information on three types of fever therapy currently available for cancer treatment.

Hyperthermia Therapy

Hyperthermia therapy is a process whereby the body temperature is raised above the normal body temperature to heal sickness. Hyperthermia therapy can be administered in two ways. One is called local hyperthermia or thermal ablation where very high temperature is focused on a small area to destroy cluster of cells such as a tumor. The other method is to raise body temperature on a larger part of the body or even the whole body to assist and speed up conventional cancer treatment. This method is called regional or whole-body hyper therapy. Hyperthermia therapy is found to be suitable for most types of cancer.

Hyperthermia therapy works in two ways. It directly helps to destroy cancer cells through thermal damage caused by the high temperature which reduces supply of oxygen to the cancer cells and depletes nutrients in the tumor. The other way is by stimulating the body’s immune system to kill the cancer cells. Apparently at a temperature of 42° C, the cancer cells produced a special type of protein on their surface, which does not happen with healthy cells. The body’s immune system is able to recognize these heat-shocked protein structures as foreign bodies and thereby destroy them.

Apart from the above direct applications, cancer cells damaged by hyperthermia are much more easily killed by other means, so hyperthermia also works well as a complementary therapy, together with the conventional cancer treatments. An added benefit is that hyperthermia therapy can drastically reduce pain which will help patients to live a better quality of life.

HIFU Therapy

HIFU is short for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. HIFU is a special form of hyperthermia therapy.

Definition

“A type of thermo-therapy or thermo-ablation for the treatment of benign prostateic hyperplasia and still under study for the treatment of cancer. An ultrasound probe focuses sound waves to an area as small as a grain of rice, similar to sunlight focused by a magnifying glass, elevating the tissue temperature to a point that the tissue cannot survive (70- to-90 degrees Centigrade or 158-194 degrees Fahrenheit).”

HIFU is a very specialized medical procedure where high-intensity focused ultrasound is used to target heat and kill cancer cells. The procedure is either image-guided by MRI, or ultrasound-guided by ultrasonography to identify tumors for destruction. With this technique, only the cancer cells are destroyed without harming the healthy cells. Doctors in China were the first to embark seriously into HIFU therapy. They have done trials treating nearly 5000 patients suffering from different types of cancer.

Recently a patient from Malaysia was successfully treated in China using HIFU therapy.

HIFU has a limitation in treatment. It can only target single tumor or part of a large tumor. It cannot treat a patient with widespread tumors. HIFU also cannot pass through either solid bone or air. At the moment, HIFU can only treat early stage prostate cancer, kidney cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and bladder cancer. HIFU is not suitable for brain tumor, lung cancer, skin cancer, head and neck cancer, advanced prostate cancer, cancer in the pelvic area, and cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes.

Oncothermia Therapy

Oncothermia therapy is the latest breakthrough in heat therapy to kill cancer cells. The clinical term is called OLRH, short for Oncotherm Loco-Regional Hyperthermia. OLRH has been proven successful in treating advanced camcers of the colon, lung, liver, pancreas and even brain cancer.

This is the technical definition of oncothermia therapy which I quote:
“In Oncothermia a modulated electric field (based on Rife modulation) with a carrier frequency of 13.56 MHz is generated by two active electrodes with a diameter of 17 cm. Since malignant tissue has higher conductivity than healthy human tissue, the electric field tends to flow predominantly through the malignant tumor tissue. The combination of deep layer heating and the electric field leads to stimulation of malignant tumor cells. This, in turn, triggers increased apoptotic activity in the tumor region and as a result, promotes cell death.”

Oncothermia operates at a lower temperature than hyperthermia, thereby reducing the risk of damaging healthy cells. Hyperthermia works at a higher temperature of 42°C, whereas oncothermia operates at only 38°C. While the cancer cells are targeted and killed, the healthy cells are not affected. Another positive news is that oncothermia therapy is clinically proven with over 100,000 treatments administered yearly at 180 facilities worldwide.

Oncothermia is safe, non-invasive, and has no side effect. It can be successfully administered together with the conventional cancer treatment protocol with improved results.

Chemo-sensitization: Oncothermia increases the absorption rate of the administered chemotherapy agent.

Radio-sensitization : Oncothermia sensitizes the tumor to complementarily applied radiotherapy by oxygenation and inhibits the repair of radiation damaged tumor cells.

Immune system response : Oncothermia triggers antigen expression.
