The Humble Sparrow

Do We Have The Patience And Empathy?

A sparrow is just an ordinary unattractive bird. This video is not actually about a sparrow that can really send a message. It is its persistent presence that creates a poignant scenario between a father and a son. It will only take 5 minutes of your precious time to watch the Youtube video. Especially for the younger readers, I hope you get the message for the rest of your life.

It takes an unassuming ordinary sparrow to bring the message across. Most often we take things for granted, especially the daily routine of life. The most joyful part is the ending in the video. Not many situations in real life will have the good fortune to have this happy and affectionate ending. Don't you think so? I am 65 (this year 2015) and I know what I'm talking about.

Hope that after watching this video, one can contemplate life in a better perspective, with a bit more patience and empathy, especially on the part of youngsters for their parents.

Life Is Not A Bed Of Roses

Life is not always a bed of roses. If we can just float with the clouds, looking down on the myriads of human activities, we will be awed by the diversity of human experiences. From one spectrum of life's blessings to the other negative extreme of life's tragedies and horrors. We see with disgust, the wastage of foods and goods in one corner of the world; people with more than plenty to indulge in their senses and cravings. Then we turn the other way and witness with horror, the famine and starvation of those who have nothing to eat. We further survey the world; pitiful humans fighting amongst themselves for a thousand and one reasons, killing one another. Then the natural disasters, tragic accidents and the dreaded painful and fatal diseases!

Doesn't look like we can change the world. The better option is to change our self. Look inward to see what we can do and contribute to the welfare of the world, starting with our self. Start with our family. Show patience and kindness and understanding for our loved ones. This is the first step that we can change the world, by changing our self.

Heed the message sent by the humble sparrow. You have a nice day.
